Classroom Etiquette
Welcome to our classroom! We're delighted you chose to learn from us! We want to ensure your class experience is fun, creative, and successful.
1) Shop Talk: We recognize that you have many options when it comes to where you shop for quilting and sewing products and are so thankful that you've chose to support us! Please refrain from talking about all those other places while you are in our classroom. It's hard on our feelings - and our ability to stay in business when we are up against the big online retailers.
2) Alternate Techniques: There are many ways to do the same task. Our teachers, instructors, and national educators will teach one specific way during their classes and events. This way is determine beforehand as the best way for the entire class to follow along. Please refrain from sharing those alternative techniques or overriding what the instructor is demonstrating. It can be confusing for other students in class.
3) Be Prepared: Come to class on time - with all of your required supplies ready to go. Your fabric, cutting tools, and sewing machine if needed, should be in good working order and ready to use when you arrive. If the instructor or prep instructions ask for fabric to be pre-cut ahead of class, please do that before you arrive so you don't slow down the class or hold up the teacher.
4) Conversations During Class: Classes are a wonderful time to socialize and make new friends, however - everyone has paid to be there to learn, and everyone learns differently. Please limit socializing to break times or times when the instructor is not demonstrating.
5) Fragrance: Many people suffer from allergies and are unable to tolerate fragrances or cigarette smoke. Please refrain from wearing fragrances of any kind while in the classroom. No smoking is allowed on the sidewalk outside of Bobbin & Bolt.
6) Phone Calls: Our cell phones are a wonderful design and organizational tool. Taking calls during the class is distracting to your classmates and the instructor. Please step outside the classroom area if you need to make or receive any important calls or texts.
7) Food and Beverage: Please feel free to bring your own beverages to class. To ensure no one has a mess on their fabric or sewing machine, we only allow cups with close-able lids in our classroom.
