Interweave Serger Quilt Top Class

Create a 48.5" x 67.5" modern quilt that shows off serger stitches and specialty threads!
The directions are written for BERNINA L890 Serger, but are applicable for any serger with overlock, cover, and chain stitches. Must have a combination serger/cover&chain machine.


Supplies:
Legal copy of Interweave pattern by Amanda Murphy
20" wide OESD Fusible Woven stabilizer, or SF101 Shapeflex
3 spools 40wt polyester thread in a neutral white or grey. Maxilock, Seracor, Designer threads will all work. 
2-4 assorted specialty threads that match your fabric.
12wt cotton threads. We recommend Spagetti and Frutti thread lines by Wonderfil. 
12wt Polyester Glamore thread works too if you want to add a little sparkle to your quilt!

Fabric Requirements:
1/4 y of 9 assorted print fabrics. Do not use Fat Quarters. 
2/3 y Accent fabric 
1 1/4 y background fabric. This is the piece you will create decorative stitching on. 
1/2 y binding (not needed in class)
3 1/2 y backing fabric (not needed in class)

Class Prep - Cutting must be done Prior to class or you will spend all instruction time cutting!
See Inside of pattern for complete cutting instructions. I recommend that you starch your fabrics well before cutting!

- Cut 4 Strips 10" x WOF appx 44" long PARALLEL to SELVAGE. 
- Cut 10" strips from Fusible Woven and fuse it to the wrong side of the Background 10" Strips
- From each of 9 fabrics cut 2 strips 3" x WOF. Yield 18 Strips 3" x WOF
- From accent fabric cut 18 strips 1" x WOF.
